Our Taif taxis cover two types of destinations — religious ziyarat sites and daytime tourist stops. Choose your tier below.
The Full-Day tour covers every religious site above plus the Bani Saad cluster — the valley around a 1-hour drive south of Taif where the Prophet (PBUH) spent his early childhood with his foster mother Halima Sa’diyah (RA), and where many of Taif’s most important religious landmarks are located:
Plus Taif’s best daytime tourist stops: Taif Cable Car & Al-Kar Village, Shubra Palace (Al-Sharif Museum), Rudaf Park & Rose Factory, Saiysad Dam & National Park, the Fruit Market, and the Al Hada viewpoints.
Drive Model (Google Maps):
| Tour Tier | Round Trip | Total Duration | Best Departure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Half-Day 5h (Religious) | ~180 km | ~5 hours | 07:00–08:00 |
| Full-Day 8–9h (Religious + Tourist) | ~360 km (incl. Bani Saad loop) | ~8–9 hours | 07:00 sharp (morning only) |
Maximum 9-hour window: the Full-Day tour is designed to be back in Makkah within 9 hours. The Bani Saad loop (roughly 1 hour each way) is the single largest block of road time, so on Bani Saad days the driver trims the shortest optional stops (fruit market / Saiysad) to keep you on schedule — never the religious sites.
How far is Taif from Makkah and how long is the trip?
Taif is approximately 90 km / ~2 hours from Makkah each way over the Al Hada mountain road. The Half-Day tour is about 5 hours in total; the Full-Day tour runs 8–9 hours with the full religious and tourist itinerary (the Bani Saad loop adds roughly 1 hour of driving each way).
What is the best time to leave for the Taif Ziyarat?
Depart between 07:00–08:00. The Half-Day tour can start at either time; the Full-Day 8–9h tour must start in the morning (07:00) to stay within its 9-hour window.
How much does a Taif Ziyarat taxi cost?
The Half-Day 5-hour religious tour starts from 450 SR (Sedan). The Full-Day 8–9 hour tour starts from 800 SR (Sedan). One fixed round-trip fare per vehicle per tier. See full pricing tables above.
Which Taif ziyarat sites will we visit?
The Half-Day 5h covers: Masjid Addas, Masjid Al-Kou (Aqaba), Masjid Abdullah ibn Abbas, Al-Madhoun/Qantara, and Miqat Qarn al-Manazil. The Full-Day 8–9h adds the entire Bani Saad cluster — the House of Halima Sa’diyah, Shaqq al-Sadr place, the Prophet’s Mosque in Bani Saad, and the Shuhada graveyard — plus Taif’s daytime tourist stops.
Are Iqama/visa copies compulsory for the trip?
Yes. You must carry your original passport or Iqama (national ID for residents) — these are checked at the highway security checkposts on the Makkah–Taif road. Keep a copy of your visa or Iqama details with you.
How much waiting time is included?
The Half-Day tour includes ~90 minutes on-site at the religious sites. The Full-Day tour includes ~3.5–4 hours on-site across religious sites, Bani Saad, and the tourist stops. Your driver waits at every stop — there is no rush.
What is the difference between the Half-Day and Full-Day tour?
The Half-Day 5h visits the religious ziyarat sites only. The Full-Day 8–9h adds the Bani Saad cluster (Halima Sa’diyah’s house and the Prophet’s childhood valley) and Taif’s daytime tourist stops — cable car & Al-Kar Village, Shubra Palace, Rudaf Park & rose factory, Saiysad Dam, and the fruit market.
What is the best time of year to visit Taif?
October through March offers the most comfortable temperatures. Taif’s highland climate is milder than Makkah, which makes it a popular summer escape — but the Al Hada mountain road is still best driven in the morning.
Is Taif ziyarat required for Umrah?
No. Visiting Taif is a recommended (mustahab) ziyarat to historic Islamic sites, including the Prophet’s (PBUH) childhood valley of Bani Saad — but it is not a compulsory rite of Umrah or Hajj. It is a separate one-day round trip from Makkah.
Is the tour private — can we stop for prayer or refreshments en route?
Yes. The tour is entirely private — your vehicle, your schedule. Prayer stops and refreshment breaks on the Al Hada road are always possible.
Do we need passports or Iqama for the trip?
Yes — original passport or Iqama must be carried at all times. Highway security checkposts between Makkah and Taif require identification for all passengers.
Can we add extras or change the tier on the day?
Yes. The two tiers are your starting point. You can decide between Half-Day and Full-Day on the day — the fixed fare for the tier you take applies. Optional paid add-ons (Al-Kar Village toboggan/zipline/water park) can be arranged when booking.
